Did you know that as a staff of nine, we are only all together three times a year?! Many of the staff members are moms, some have other jobs, volunteer their time at church, and even take time to do something for themselves now and then!

For almost ten years and through many changes in the business, I have applied five core values to SMP and it’s these principles that have allowed all of us to work together and separately with ease and have a deep sense of community and love for our clients. 

One of our annual meetings is quickly approaching as we all come together for a “state of the union,” so I thought it would be fun to share with you all what guides and propels us forward.

• TREAT PEOPLE INDIVIDUALLY AND WITH DIGNITY
  • We believe that all people are made uniquely and that every person has a value and a purpose. Instead of focusing on you as “another face in the crowd” we want to get to know you. It is what leads us to having a pre-session consult with you before each session to learn what is important to you, what images you are looking for, and how we can help you get those. We end our process by talking and helping you to figure out what products you need – you aren’t just a USB of digital files! You’re an individual with preferences, tastes, and ways that you want to display the images you have dreamed of.

• COMMUNICATE WELL WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS
  • Like I mentioned above – we are ALL in the same room three times a year, but depending on what one of the team members is working on, it’s necessary to work together! We use a few different ways to keep in touch – but don’t worry, we aren’t all work and no play! Gifs, memes, and fun messages are also a part of our business work!
  • For clients – we know that you have a lot to do as well, after all – we’re moms and wives, too! We communicate with helpful tips and tricks on how to ensure a great session and have multiple points of contact during the client process to remind you of dates and session times!

• RETURN PRODUCT IN A TIMELY AND EFFICIENT MANNER
  • One of the aspects of our business that we pride ourselves on is this! We LOVE that we can get product back, and it can be on your walls QUICKLY! We’ve even been known to complete a milestone session and have prints back and ready for mom to use for a 1st birthday party just a week later!

• BE GENEROUS MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY
  • Over the years, we have been honored to come alongside local non-profits such as Aggieland Pregnancy Outreach, The Mama Club, Scotty’s House, Playground for All, Coach Blair charities, local schools, and most recently, St. Jude’s House. We view this job as a missional opportunity to meet others and serve them!

• TRUST THE LORD TO PROVIDE CLIENTS
  • This one isn’t the last because it is the least important – it’s last so that if you remember only one of these, it’s this one. As believers in Jesus, we fully trust him to lead this business in the direction He desires and to provide us with the clients that we need to keep us doing what we love. Each client that comes through the door is LITERALLY an answered prayer and a living reminder that the Lord is truly providing for us each and every day.
