Matthew. 17 days old.
“Shannon went above and beyond to make our newborn session absolutely perfect! She incorporated all of the sentimental details I’d requested, was so loving with our children, she took extra family and sibling photos for us, and even ordered special props specific to one of our themes. The session, itself, was so much more than I’d expected! She welcomed us into her home, offered us refreshments, and then worked her magic while I relaxed…a newborn mommy’s dream come true! Our ordering session was so much fun, and Shannon was super helpful in the decision-making process. The portraits she took are absolutely breathtaking! I’m in love with her work, and her customer service is remarkable. I will continue to recommend her to all my friends and family! I could not be more pleased with my entire experience.”

Can you guess where this first picture was taken? If you guessed my backyard in College Station, you’d be right. When it’s warm enough outside, I like to take some of the newborn portraits outside, including some of his or her individual portraits. We had a lot planned for Matthew’s session, so we only took family pictures outside, but I loved how they turned out. His brothers have the most infectious smiles as you’ll soon see. 😉
We next ventured inside to capture some sibling moments. The first set is the classic look. I advise that siblings wear either jean shorts or khakis with a solid color shirt. This can give the portrait a timeless appeal. Don’t you love the brothers looking at Matthew and also the sweet kisses on his forehead?
Now the fun part! A dear friend of the mom’s had given her some superhero items, and we definitely wanted to include them.
The many faces of a superhero. Can’t be all smiles. Sometimes you gotta fake ’em out. Hee hee!!
Now for Matthew’s individual portraits. Mom requested gray, light blue, brown, and teal for his session colors. And voila!
I’m now including one image with the “Artful Words” in each gallery. I love them and can customize the colors. I think they make a beautiful image to print for one’s desk.
This pose offers so many details and is a great time for me to use my macro lens. 🙂
Matthew is so handsome in color or black and white.
Mom brought in this monkey hat. Matthew was happy to oblige.
In this pose, I love how his ten toes and fingers are all so close together. You can see just how small he is.
Mom purchased this precious hat/short set from And Whatnot Boutique, a GREAT source for knitted hats, bonnets, and other items for newborns.
Finally, a little preview of Matthew’s birth announcements. Once again, I can customize the colors, pictures, and wording (not just the baby’s details) according to each client’s wishes. Once we schedule the ordering session, I send a link to all of the birth announcement options. You can look through them to get an idea of which one you might like to use.
