A Couple of Firsts | Children Photography College Station

There’s no doubt that I have my favorite places to photograph around Bryan/College  Station: the George Bush Library, Research Park, Downtown Bryan just to name a few.  But it’s also a lot of fun (and challenging in a good way) to go to new places around town, especially when I have such great clients as the ones below!!  🙂

This sweet little girl turned two years old this month, and some of her favorite things are to play at the park and to go to Blue Baker, so…we played at the park and then went to Blue Baker!!

One technique in photography is to “frame” your subject.  Here the opening around the slide provided the perfect “frame” for this sweet girl’s  joy in taking trips down the slide.   Try this at home.  An open door way, a window, the branches of a tree, etc.  Break out your inner creativity!!

She absolutely loved going down the slide, and her joy was infectious.  She got Dad to come down the slide, and I was on the verge of going down myself.  Then I remembered I was supposed to be capturing these moments!!  😉

Another fun “frame.”  Her eyes really are this blue.  She is BEAUTIFUL!!

Then it was off to Blue Baker – the “old one” as we call it.  Her mom and I had talked about bringing props.  I encouraged her to bring things that her little girl likes to play with since that would capture the essence of her 2nd birthday.  So she wisely brought this tea party set, and it was definitely a hit!!

This was one of my favorites, and I loved it especially in black and white!  Do you see the little fork in her right hand?

Yep!  This is the blue wall at Blue Baker.  Perfect backdrop.

This picture is here because I love it!!  I love her genuine expression and hand placement.  I love her slight smile.  And I love trying to imagine what she must have been thinking.  Happy birthday, Sweet Girl!  I loved being your photographer.
